Gaëlle Lang Halloo Selected for the Hyères Festival 2024 Finals
February 15, 2024
Being named among the finalists for the fashion prize at the 39th edition of the Hyères International Festival of Fashion fills me with immense pride. It's an acknowledgment not just of my work but of the vibrant creativity that flows through the heart of fashion. Under the guidance of Nicolas Di Felice, the artistic director of Courrèges, who will lead the fashion jury, this year's competition promises to be an unparalleled platform for showcasing emerging talent.
Jean-Pierre Blanc, the festival's founder, alongside actress Audrey Marnay, unveiled this exciting journey ahead during Paris Couture Week. Their dedication to fostering new voices in fashion resonates deeply with me. Di Felice's commitment to nurturing the next generation is particularly inspiring. He shared, “I’m always touched by competitions because it’s the moment where careers and destinies can be changed, whoever you are and wherever you come from,” a sentiment that echoes my feelings about this opportunity.
Joining me in the race for the prestigious fashion prizes are Romain Bichot (Belgium), Dolev Elron (Israel), Logan Goff (U.S.), Fabian Kis-Juhasz (Hungary), Victor Koehler and Victoria Baia (France), Tal Maslavi (Israel), Julie Mouly-Pommerol (France), Lilian Navarro (France), and Kenshiro Suzuki (Japan). The awards, including the Première Vision Grand Prize and the 19M Chanel Métiers d’Art prize, not only offer recognition but also invaluable resources for crafting future collections.
The festival, set against the picturesque Villa Noailles, extends beyond a competition. It is a celebration of innovation and creativity, offering finalists like myself a year of mentoring and the chance to collaborate with renowned partners. As we prepare for October, I'm focused on refining my designs, ensuring they convey my vision clearly and succinctly. This event is not just a competition; it's a pivotal moment where new paths are forged in the ever-evolving landscape of fashion.
